The Water Bottle Lick Detector is a compact, battery-powered device designed to monitor licking behavior of mice and rats directly in their home cage. It seamlessly attaches to most standard laboratory water bottles, enabling effortless setup without cage modification. Each lick is detected with high sensitivity and transmitted via Bluetooth to an Android tablet, allowing real-time monitoring and data collection. Multiple detectors can be used simultaneously, making it possible to track different liquids or compare consumption across groups. This system provides a reliable, wireless solution for studying drinking behavior in rodents.
Each unit includes one Water Bottle Lick Detector. The Android tablet is sold separately. A data saver/logger application is provided for download, enabling convenient data storage and analysis directly on the Android tablet.
An alarm feature is available to track water intake, providing timely alerts for monitoring the animal’s state and ensuring proper welfare.
